Things You Should Know Before Buying Laceup Riding Boots
Laceup horseback riding boots are my preference, even though they are more challenging to put on and take off.
When you are looking at buying a pair of new riding boots with laces, there are a couple of things to consider first.
#1 Eyehook Type
Some lace-up boots come with plastic hooks, and others come with metal. Metal lace hooks are generally more durable, so if you are doing a lot of riding, boots with this hook might suit you better.
#2 Do They Have a Zipper
Some lace-up paddock boots have a zipper that runs up the back. This gives you the benefit of putting your boots on easily and tightening them for maximum support.
FAQs
Can I wear normal boots for horse riding?
You should not wear normal boots for horse riding. The soles on these boots are too thick and bulky, putting your safety at risk. Always wear boots designed specifically for horse riding.
Are Lace-Up or Zipper Horse Riding Boots Better?
Lace-up vs. zipper riding boots are a personal preference for which is better. I prefer lace-up as they provide most ankle support. A steel toe riding boot is a good option if you do a lot of work around the barn.
Conclusion
Horse riding boots with laces are popular so you will find plenty of choices. Over the years, I’ve gone through many boots, both with zippers and laces.
I like them both, but I like the secure, supportive feeling boots with laces give. The most important thing to remember is to choose a boot that fits well, keeps your feet comfortable, and suits your budget.
